Cygolite® Nite Riding Demo Event
Deerfield Community Park
4:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Have you ever wanted to try riding at night, but are reluctant to invest in lighting? Come to this special event and learn what you need to know to safely ride your bike during cool evenings & nights, instead of the heat of the day.
Club Secretary Bob McHenry will present a short talk about bicycle lighting and night time riding safety. Cygolite, an Orange County bicycle lighting systems manufacturer and a BCI club sponsor, will present an overview of their product line & provide loaners to demonstrate their products. Then we’ll mount lighting on members’ bikes, and have a no-drop fun ride of about 20 miles at an easy pace with a dinner stop.

Annual Holiday Party
3030 Pullman Avenue, Costa Mesa,CA
6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
The Bicycle Club of Irvine invites all members in good standing to join us on Saturday, November 21st at 6pm for our annual Holiday Party. This year, we will be once again celebrating the season at Working Wardrobes, 3030 Pullman Avenue in Costa Mesa CA who has graciously made their community room available to BCI.
A non-profit community service organization, Working Wardrobes accepts all types of clothing items as donations, preferably business attire. The item should be a clothing item in good condition for a man or woman that can be worn to a business interview and in a work environment.
In addition to clothing items, Working Wardrobe needs men’s belts and shoes as well as women’s shoes and handbags. They also accept accessories such as jewelry, scarves and ties. They will also take bicycle donations! Bicycles are reconditioned for Working Wardrobes at no charge by BCI sponsor shop, Trail’s End Cycling Center in Irvine. Last year, BCI members donated six bicycles that have since found new homes with WW clients, several of them who were homeless veterans.
They kindly ask that the clothing items such as suits, shirts, slacks, jackets, sweaters, vests, skirts and formal dresses be placed on clothes hangers.
This is a Pot Luck dinner. Members should bring a heavy appetizer to share. Please NO CHIPS and dip. Bring your favorite beverage and serving utensils. Please bring at least one donation item of clothing for our hosts.
Members will be able to sign up online so everyone can see the dinner items that other members will be bringing. More information will be posted on the website.
